The energy in the laser is attracted to the melanin in the hair, the darker the hair is, the more effective the treatment. The applicator is placed onto the skin and the light energy is absorbed into the hair causing a heat reaction to destroy the follicle.

Hair growth works in cycles.  There are 3 different cycles

Anagen – the new hair is growing and is connected to a blood supply at the base of the follicle. During this phase, your hair follicles are pushing out hairs that will continue to grow until they’re cut or until they reach the end of their lifespan and fall out.  It is the longest phase and can last anywhere between 2-6 years on your head!

Catagen – This phase starts when the anagen phase ends, and tends to last about 10 days or so. During this chapter, hair follicles shrink and hair growth slows. The hair also separates from the bottom of the hair follicle and blood supply, yet remains in place during its final days of growing.

Telogen – The telogen phase typically lasts around 3 months. Hairs don’t grow during the telogen phase, but they don’t usually fall out either. The telogen phase is also when new hairs start to form in follicles that have just released hairs during the catagen phase.

Hair grows to different lengths at different times all over our body.  The laser works on hair that is in the anagen stage of growth as it is connected to a blood supply.

When the germ/stem cells in the hair follicle are ‘cooked’ at the right temperature for the right amount of time (bit like baking a cake!)  the follicle is killed and the hair won’t grow anymore.

Consequently, this has an impact on how often we treat areas of the body with laser.  The table below shows how often you will come in for sessions in different areas.

The lasers used in this treatment are very precise so can be used to remove hair on the face, underarms, bikini line / Brazilian, back, chest, neck, hands, legs, feet – anywhere on the body where the hair has enough pigment to attract the laser light, even very sensitive areas.

Yes. One of the reasons laser hair removal is ideal for men is that it works equally well across the entire body and has long-lasting results. From a few unwanted tufts, to an entire back, chest or stomach, laser hair removal is efficient and effective.

Laser Hair Removal is described as feeling like the flick of an elastic band. The more sessions you have, the less pain you feel as there are fewer hair follicles targeted.

The laser emits light energy, which is absorbed by melanin in the hair. If in the right stage of growth, this causes the hair follicle to overheat and damages the bulb, preventing regrowth. The process is called photothermolysis.

Most of our clients see a permanent result of up to 90% reduction in hair growth. Results are dependent on hair type and colour and permanent hair reduction that lasts can be achieved.

Compared to the cost of a lifetime’s shaving or waxing, laser hair removal sessions are great value for money. It’s also important to remember that cheaper Laser Hair Removal doesn’t always mean better or safe.

Laser hair treatment is fine for any skin type or colour, as long as your hairs are dark enough to attract the laser.

• With a permanent reduction in growth an average of 68 – 74%. the hair will be finer, lighter and much slower growing with the additional benefit of smoother skin.
• By shaving far less often you will never need to worry about seeing a hair shadow or prickly legs again.
• The money you spend on waxing over time and the toll it takes on the skin, makes hair removal a way to maintain skins health and save money in the long run.
• Hair removal on the face will take away the dark shadow improve skin tone from need to wax shave and pluck are less or not at all in some cases. Reduces embarrassment and the need to constantly use make up to cover the shadow.
• Ingrown hair can completely go after having a course of laser hair removal- no more painful waxing sessions and subsequent scarring.

No – Cancer is caused by UV spectrum of light- ultra violet light which irradiates the cell’s DNA causing irregular growth changes which can cause cancerous growths . Laser hair removal uses the red spectrum of light- specifically infra-red which is only absorbed by the dark pigment in your hair called melanin. This cause no changes to your skin cells and is very safe.
